Here are some photos we have taken of the garden. Some are from early June and others were taken just last week.
| The garden and the irrigation system we built. |
| This is the 8 port manifold from which the main watering line is divided into each row in our garden plot. |
| The Gnome in Early June. |
| The Gnome a month later. |
| Tomatillos front and centre. |
| Can you find the Pea Sprout? |
| Here's an easier one to find. |
| Anaheim peppers that were donated from Cooks Nursery in Lindon. |
Bush blue lake beans that were also donated from Cooks.
These were hit by a late frost after planting unfortunately. |
All the plants we adopted from the "donation shelf".
In addition to peppers and beans they include tomatoes of several varieties,
such as yellow pear tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, and early girls. |
These photos were taken last week.
| Green Pepper, mint, purple sage, and cherry tomatoes in the background. |
| I plan to make my own chamomile tea from this little plant. |
| One of the early girl plants from the donation shelf. Unfortunately this tomato was pecked at by birds, as I discovered a huge hole in it the next day, curse those theiving birds. |
| The tomatillos are getting bigger |
| Lettuce. This is called the "garden mix". |
Turns out this is Swiss chard, it's called rhubarb Swiss chard, didn't know there was a difference till now.
It's pretty tasty. |
| Tri-colour sage. |
| More Purple sage. |
| Cherry tomatoes. |
| The only tomato plant that survived the aforementioned late frost. It's called sugary. |
| Cherry tomato. |
| Yellow pear tomato. |
| This one is ready to eat! |
| Cilantro. |
| Fennel. |
| Peas! |
| More peas! |
| Teeny green pepper. |
| Onion Chives. |
| Kale. |
| Green pepper and garlic chives. |
| Carrots. |
| Beets. |
| Watermelon. |
| Golf ball Watermelon. (now it's nearly the size of a baseball.) |
| this Watermelon is the size of the end of my thumb. |
| Zucchini. |
| Cucumber. | |
| Cucumber--this plant now has a big cucumber on it, about 4 inches long already. |
| Cucumber. These now have square cages so the cucumbers can grow upwards. |
| Malabar "spinach". It originates in the Philippines. |
| Anaheim pepper. |
| Parsley. |
| Dill. |
| These are the beans that were hit by the late frost. They're slowly growing back. No flowers yet on them. |
I tried to plant some bean seeds to "recover" the donated plants that were damaged in the late frost,
but this was the only bean seed that sprouted. |
| Boxwood basil. |
| Mammoth basil. The laves yellowed a little after transplanting, but it bounced back well. |
| I decided to commandeer the plot beside our second plot because no one is using it. |
| The pickings for the day: 1 tomatillo, 5 cherry tomatoes, and 2 peppers. Didn't plan to pick the peppers yet, but Banner knocked them off the plant, so might as well eat them. They were not as sweet as fully grown ones, but we have more growing in the garden. |
